This is easily the most goofy ahh Mario game out there, right next to Mario Paint. They're not afraid to show their wacky sides.

@Super_luigi: Mario's a model in both of those games, too.

@Son1c im pretty sure you're thinking about either NSMBDS or SMMfN3DS, cause like Austin said, NSMBU Mario and almost everything else was a model.

no it was a pre rendered sprite. im sure... even the E3 demo/trailer uses pre rendered sprites!

@Son1c NSMBU Mario is a model. The same goes for Yoshi, Bowser, Bowser Jr, and the other playable characters in the second game.

im sad nsmbu mario isnt here

I never had an online account on my Wii U so I never got to experience this game's Course World

i thought that the E3 2014 sprites still remained in the game files
Still as i didn't Play SMM2, Some Videos, Games and Other things helped me to Know this Game.
One of the games was: Super Mario Maker: World Engine,Mario Builder and Mario Editor. Lol

It also helps that you used a stylus to navigate the menus and place stuff, using controllers in Maker 2 is genuinely so painful with how slow and clunky it is. They really couldn't have bundled a stylus with every copy of the game at least? Oh wait, they did... For a limited release of the game, great.

It's so sad to see Nintendo shutting down services that we still love.

In terms of original content and creativity SMM1 definitely wins, in my opinion. They recreated the engine of 4 past Mario games and included so much additional content, like that creative skinny mushroom and the amiibo costumes. And I really love the Mario Paint theme.
I feel like SMM2 just reused most stuff from the previous game and even removed some features like the 100 Mario Challenge.
UNPOPULAR OPINION: Hot Garbage levels = art.

The editor was simpler in this game, I think. Course Parts was easier to access under one tray, and overall less compact, so you always clicked the right thing, which is surprisingly an issue I had with SMM2.

I don't know, but SMM1 is better than SMM2

Sorry if this is already here but, where are the unused e3 2014 sprites?

@GustavoGafer: You already got an answer to that when you asked on the Super Mario Maker 2 page -- they're models, not sprites, so they wouldn't be here in the first place.

we are the backgrounds for smb U?

hello, where is the menu where you select items and blocks?

@TheVengefulRevolvenant: Over in the Splatoon section.

@Son1c, yes, the E3 Demo uses pre-rendered sprites, because it was an older version, we do not have access to any sprites from this version of Mario Maker. and release versions of Super Mario Maker use models.
