Also, in Japanese, the Merlon clan all have "-e'aaru" as an ending instead of "Mer-" as a beginning.
Rebear might be "reveal" since in Japanese B/V and R/L sounds are substituted for each other. ie a file for Vivian in SPM is called bibi, and Luigi is sometimes called ruigi in Japan. "Reveal" makes since for this kind of character too, maybe she would have revealed optional collectibles like badges and Star Pieces which ultimately weren't in SPM.
