Yes, the beach is part of a panorama.
Is the miniature for this accurate? I don't see any beach
Usually, the maps in this game either use baked-in water tiles or transparent water overlays. This map has both in form of the darker waterfall tiles (overlay) and the entire rest (baked).
Everything is also on one layer, just like the rest of the mountain areas (Thor Volcano, Delphi Mountain, Sigmund Glacier).
