Would love to see a Romhack that makes the blue climbing fence koopa go a diagonal pattern while the yellow koopa basically follows mario movement, but he moves slow to make it fair

@DinoBanana If they come across an upside-down empty shell, they'll kick it rightside-up so they can enter.

Where's the second "kicking shells" sprites used? Because to my knowledge red, green and yellow beach koopas can't kick shells. And if they aren't used anywhere, then why are they labeled as "used"?

This is why there are marks and checks in front of each animation / frame, it shows you what is used and what not. The flashing shell animations are both used, same goes for the props.

Is the gray and orange sprite palette used for anything else in the game?

They indicate if a Koopa sprite within a certain palette is used or not. For example, there are no climbing Koopas with a blue shell, therefore they're marked with a red X.

@Kc64, after you beat the super hard secret world. The main world is now set in Autumn, and some enemies become costumed.
(Koopa Troopas wearing Mario masks, Pidgits replacing Bullet Bills, and Piranha Plants are now pumpkins. The GBA port takes it further with Pokey being replaced by a spiky totem pole with cute faces, and Galoomba now yellow and wearing sunglasses)

I sent a revision to restore the old sheet, the palettes for the gold and black Koopas are custom and don't belong here (since they're just cheap recolours).

After getting hit with the cape, the Masked Koopa jumps out of its shell without announcing it per visual signalling.

This forgets the eyes in the bumped or cape attacked Masked Koopa shell.

- There is no blue masked Para-Koopa in Vanilla Secret 1.
- Koopas kicking shells: Just what P-Tux7 said.
- There are two situations where Koopas get on their bellies: Slide Attack (blue Koopa only, 1 frame) & Kicked out of Shell (red, green & yellow only, 2 frames). These two are on the sheet and were marked accordingly (and yes, they share a frame with each other).
- I won't add alien frames from the enemy cast roll to the sheet, they use a different data table and have no relation to the rest of the animations.
- Earlier I changed the note when a Koopa gets hit by the cape spin to make it more clear what happens.

Other koopas do kick shells. When they encounter an upside-down one, they kick it to flip it upright before jumping into it.

The Blue Mask Paratroopa is, in fact, used (at least) in Vanilla Secret 1. It merely has the properties of a Green Paratroopa. You also accidentally marked the Blue Koopa "Kicked out of Shell" as Unused (Which is also used for when they slide down hills); and the other colors of Koopa "Kicking Shell" as used.

When they're climbing in front of the fence, their heads remind me of Earthworm Jim.

Completely re-ripped everything, also added custom markers which show if a frame/animation is used or not.

Eating a Koopa and crouch spitting it only leaves the empty shell. The eyes appear when a Koopa enters an empty shell or gets hit by Mario's cape spin. In the latter case, the position of the eyes depends on if you hit a regular Koopa or a Para-Koopa. The Mario Mask shells don't use these eyes, therefore I assume that they're edits.
