Okay, I know they were trying to be comedic, but the regular stomp effect from Super Mario World would have done just fine.
You can blow up koopas in this game.

@MG: When you stomp on a Koopa Troopa. It does either the falling apart or flying animation.

Jeeze, with those "falling apart" sprites, now I'm really glad I only ever played the NES version, tiny Bowser that was made from splicing Iggy/Larry's body with an edited Lemmy's head that turned into a Beach Koopa (Troopa) when defeated nonwithstanding...
