this, along with the original Puyo Puyo makes me wonder how they fit all this onto a SNES

Kirby was banned from speaking English after the events of this game.

@Yawackhary I see your point but I meant it to be a joke. I wasn’t really being serious.

@Ignite Edge It's more of a coincidence if anything...
Most of the dev team working at Sega wouldn't be aware of this game as it wasn't released in Japan and the ones who probably have would have just found it on the Internet one day as a curio. Yeah, Sega bought the Puyo Puyo IP from Compile and only aware of their own stuff + Mean Bean Machine to a lesser extent meaning that it's probably Sakurai whose more aware of this game (I don't know about the rest of HAL). On the Tetris side, they published and developed many entries, most that stayed in Japan due to the complex license (it was really complex at one point affecting the Mega Drive release that had to be cancelled and only a handful of genuine copies exist). Plus the plotline can happen in manga, anime, light novels, etc where the dev team are far more familiar with.

I guess this was the inspiration for Puyo Puyo Tetris; stuff that isn’t supposed to be in a specific dimension somehow ends up appearing in said dimension. However, Arle and her friends aren’t here to save Planet Popstar because it isn’t much of a problem.

Broom Hatter: "Oh, what a mess! Must I clean up this entire forest?"
Kirby: "I'd worry more about cleaning up your Avalanche skills first!"

We need more sprites ripped from this game!

@TattleNot "rips off," "localizes," the exact same situation as Mean Bean Machine. Also it wasn't SEGA's then; they didn't own it until 1998.
Do some actual research before throwing out charged accusations, please.

AKA: Kirby Rips-Off SEGA's Puyo Puyo!

Should be called "Kirby's Avalanche / Kirby's Ghost Trap" since the UK version of Kirby's Avalanche was called Kirby's Ghost Trap.
