gotta go slower sonic, gotta go slower.

that unused balancing animation though

Second skid animation is also used for bouncing back after hitting a wall.

@Danny Jarquin yes

hot take: the skidding animation is better than the final version

Sonic is in a midlife crisis
Sonic is in a midlife crisis

@PGE i added the unused continue sprites and fixed the last walk frame

The thumbnail tho

what changed

Dear lord the blink animation :O

@Random Talking Bush: Lava death sprites that were gray that didn't get used.

@SuperMario46: First of all, don't all-caps like that, it's rude. Secondly, they're no different than the sprites already on the other submission from the final release -- this submission only has the sprites unique to the prototype.

WHERES THE DEATH ANIMATION AND JUMP ANIMATION?

s a d sonic.

@Useott: Rather late, I'm aware, but of course things are going to look off here; these sprites are from an earlier version of the game.

For me the head in the walking sprites is a bit off, anyone else feels it?

the orange colors are used for shoe shine in the final version

bro is going at mach 4

@QuadFactor oh ok

-The idea of a 12 framed walking cycle.
-The spiral leg run for both Sonic & Knuckles' dashing animations.
-The first 4 frames of the skidding reused for Sonic.
-The unused mid rotation kinda looks identical.
Looks like Sonic Mania's developers really liked the S2 prototypes huh?
