If using Paint, it's best to open the .gif through a shortcut or the program itself than using the right-click menu, then copying the image onto a fresh canvas to keep the colors intact.
Yeah... MS Paint isn't the greatest when comes to color accuracy.

For reference, the sheet was converted to a .png, but I assure you it happens with the unaltered .gif version too.
