The red spot is probably a stray pixel on the sheet, because in-game he doesn't have that spot.

For some reason I thought the red spot on the data select was blood from the crashing of the death egg.

A lot of these bosses are good or creative (in my opinion) and I like that
I also believe some of the colors on the unused Eggmobile sprites aren't raw. Oh, also something somewhat strange is that there's the darkest shade of Knuckles's red fur color on the No Emeralds sprite. I'm assuming that's how it was ripped or it wasn't part of the sprite.
Also, the only version I saw the bald shine fixed was in Sonic 3 Complete, which some sprites are apparently coming soon on this site. You do not know how angry I am over that. They said my menu rips were incomplete. Hell, there were other ROM hack rips that weren't even complete and they got accepted instantly.

Anyways yeah I've only played it on compilation re-releases, specifically Mega Collection Plus. It also has the middle purple frame on the Orbinauts that is typically erroneously attributed to the mobile port. I also own the Genesis Classic (like the NES and SNES classic) but haven't taken it out of the box for the whole year I've owned it. Darn college....
