This is cool, someone should try recreate the Act 1 fire segment in the style of this lush green segment

@RedTails, sometimes maps can be better, but in a lot of cases, the tile sets are better

@RedTails Dont worry, on Scratch, I am making Sonic 3 Fanmade and you can easily rip the tiles there because there connected.

Full map rips aren't actually that easy. Fun to do? Sure, depending on the stage. But Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles have the hardest bunch of maps; I have Carnival Night Zone Act 2 alongside Act 2 of this on the go at the moment and it is detestable.

Tile sets, on the other hand, are for those who are playing around with ROM hacking.

Why can't others stages be like this too, rather than tile sets? I'm trying to port Sonic 3 to PC, but it will be hard to recreate the level using tiles instead of using different parts from a complete image of the stage.

Nope, it's a mess of layers. Though that section of the palm tree's trunk you mentioned operates differently to the rest of the tree and ground, it still remains a part of the foreground layer.

Isn't there actually a separate sprite for the palm tree's trunk at the end of this section that's used to make the Fire Breaths fly behind said tree?
