This part in the game gave me Chemical Plant vibes, due to the greyness and purple water. I always thought of Sonic 2 as a more... Expansion. Like Sonic rebuilt Green Hill into Emerald Hill, and met tails along the way, but Eggman rebuilt this part into Chemical Plant and the rest of Scrap Brain into the Death Egg.
So technically scrap brain act 3 is labyrinth zone act 4
Technically, these chunks are just recolored Labyrinth Zone Chunks.
