@Snow-Thunder I'm pretty sure this sheet was made back when zip files were (seemingly) frowned upon on the site and sheets were preferred, so yes. They *absolutely* knew about zip files.

Ever heard of zip files?

the fact that this was able to run on the Genesis

I'm not the first to say it but this is insane for it's time and it's hardware.

Man I can't even begin to imagine how any of this fits into VRAM, no matter how compressed..

I'm so hoping Jon Burton has the original source for this render

me after i discovered they crushed sonic into bits for this

Nvm, it's Void

Who was Beanluv?

Wow, this is how you push hardware to the limits

@Akira Because this is the Genesis, they had to use some compression methods to make it fit on the cartridge.

Why is it so squashed?

Hopefully the SEGA logo will be ripped next. (And also a version with a adjusted palette similar to one one shown in Jon's video)

@Beanluv I looked on SonicWiki and got nothing. Also I don't have YouTube available on weekends due to bad bandwiwth.

@LittleYabiko: I seriously can't wait, either. It's good to see that Jon is coming back to make a ROM hack of his own game. I mean, it's been done in the past before, like SMB2 (JP) or ANNSMB or something similar to that, but the Director's Cut version of this is actually special.
@Doc von Schmeltwick: Are you serious?

I'm... not exactly sure if this counts as a sprite sheet or not, considering that it's just ripping the raw frames of a pre-rendered FMV.

This cutscene is very advanced for it's time. This is the actual size of the entire opening cinematic, but the real issue trying to code Super Sonic in was generally speaking, control and it causes others that share sonic's blue to freak out in ways unexpected.

Director's Cut?

lookin forward to director's cut. the guy working on it also showed this sequence smoothed out and with a fixed palette. really nice
