@Seifeddine1345654 and 8-bit as well

Sonic 2 Spinball: The Hedgehog

8-Bit Sonic but it's actually 16-Bit
...What?
...What?

sonic 2 but it has spinball levels
The beta ver looks like Sonic Spinball from GG (Game Gear)

why does the final one look like a game gear sprite

SEGA did a weird job with Sonic's final sprites. Dude, just look at this coloring, like, why it is so dark? Even the shadowing didn't needed to be that dark.

Beta: sonic 2 spinball the hedgehog

Dassa schmanky lookin Sonic

maybe most of the sonic 2 assets got deleted and all they had was the running animation and skidding animation and just kind of smudged the sonic spinball jump sprite into it because they lost the jumping animation along with other sprites

Ok why do the beta sprites have Sonic 2 sprites with Sonic Spinball sprites?

8-bit looking sonic but it's 16-bit

why does the beta look better than the final

@MCTravisYT Unknown since the Sega Channel ROMs are compressed. You get that a lot for Genesis ripping.
It was either capturing them as the poses were displayed or ripped them via the VDP. There might be a missing pose but we don't know for sure.

Where exactly are these located within the ROM?

@SONICKABOOM!
They're just in the intro. Nothing special.

what was this used for?
(i thought i knew ALL of the sonic games)

@Super Phanto
It was all I could get at the time. Sonic goes fully off-screen as soon as the 7th run frame is displayed.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the final is missing a walking frame on this sheet.

Is this the Sonic equivalent to Bad Box Art Mega Man (geez that's a long name)?
