Eh, I'd say it's fine for certain circumstances, like with specific materials (like fish or dolphin skin) that just look kinda like that.

I know I am gonna get SO MUCH HATE for this, but I don't really mind pillowshading, as it allows me to be lazy and not have to care about lighting.

@Dolphman Possibly because this was the first time an Alex Kidd game had a less-limited palette, so they weren't as sure what to do....or they just wanted it to have a pastel feel.

Gah! Look at that pillow shading. It's baffling when official games have sprites like that.
