@Yawackhary When were there laserdisc games?
WHEN WERE THERE LASERDISC GAMES?!
WHEN WERE THERE LASERDISC GAMES?!

@Murphmario Actually this was an arcade port of a Laserdisc game and the Sega CD at one point was a dumping ground for FMV/QTE games. Many of the old Laserdisc games got a second chance and some like Road Blaster/Road Avenger became more popular, it was really just Cliff Hanger (and not of the one already on the Sega CD based on the film, it's the Lupin one), Astron Belt and a few others that didn't get ported.
Oh speaking of Sega CD, in a way Mickey Mania was sort of time travel, as Mickey (of 1994) goes through the various shorts. Ecco: The Tides of Time and The Terminator featured a bit of time travelling too. The first two were also on the Genesis though and the latter is a complete remake due to the rushed development of the original and licensing restrictions.
As for the coolness of time travel of the 1980s, you can thank the popularity of Back to the Future. Strangely enough Time Gal came out in the same year...

@Murphmario guess they should call the sega cd the "Sega CD-Rom Of Time Travelling" but yeah, guess time travelling was a crazy but really great idea in the 90s and 80s

@Gaia What is up with Sega CD games and time travel? There's both this and Sonic CD that have Time Travel in their plots.

Compared to Dragon's Lair, most of the Deaths are actually "Non-Deaths" being a console game. She's yoinked back into her proper time to try again... Save for the humans she encounters. Any one of them could be her direct ancestor, one of the more brutal deaths being erased from history.

Space Warrior

Love this game , wish we had a new Time Gal game.
