Pretty much their main influence. The guys at Game Freak must be big kaiju fans.
The other references include Godzilla (Tyranitar) Gamera (Carracosta) Mothra (Volcarona) King Ghidorah (Hydreigon) And unsure or unlikely, due to these kaiju being from both South and North Korea: Yongary (Rhydon) and Pulgasari (Aggron)
