I just found out that in the Toontown Rewritten files, there's no .BAM files. Instead, there are .MF files.

Anyways, they can be opened in Panda3D as well, according to what this says.

Edit eight months later: So, I've been doing some looking into ripping models from Toontown Rewritten, and I found out that the models are in a .BAM format that's stored in an .MF file. Just thought I'd mention it.

Oh, and a little fun fact about this game's thumbnail: It was one of my several screenshots I took from the event "Operation: Storm Cashbot HQ" back in 2019.

@DogToon64 But I don't have a Twitter account to ask him, though, I am wondering if the game uses some sort of vertex for the models if it's hard to get them to look right.

@DigitalDiamal Yeah, it is possible, it's just a hard game to rip models, like Minecraft. I tried to set up Panda3D once so I could make Toontown animations, but it wouldn't start up. :P

I've read on Toontown Online section on The Textures Resource that the models are in a .BAM format, and from what I've read, it is a compressed version of a .SAM file.

You could try messaging Smokin' Foreman (formerly Swag Foreman) on Twitter for help. He knows how to use Panda3D. He even makes Toontown animations with Panda3D!

It is possible. You just need Panda3D and the knowledge to view the models in Panda3D's Viewer. Actually, I don't think that last bit is necessary for uploading them, but you need to know how to make the models viewable in engines like Blender. I've tried to make them work in Blender before, but it's such a garbled mess. (┬┬﹏┬┬)

@DogToon64 Would it be possible to rip the models from this game?

Any time! I'm surprised that nobody did this before I did myself. I'll look into going deeper into TTR some time later since the TTR team updated some of graphics, like the world map, since TTO shut down, as well as adding Croc and Reindeer Toons.

Thanks so much for ripping these! I'm quite surprised to see that this hasn't been ripped from until now.
