Is it me or does Sonic's standing look touched up? Like they modified the render to change his mouth, eyes, and shading? It looks pretty different than all the other sprites

This is the Xtreme model, however you brought up a good point about Sonic not fitting with the rest of the artstyle. It turns out this was originally just a generic edutainment game but was rebranded to be a Sonic game late in development as a request from Sega, which explains some of the questionable qualities of this game.

@saidFayad5 They're similar but since we don't get an isometric view we can't tell for sure. Definitely different animations on the model itself since Sonic doesn't weave side to side when walking.

i think they were going for the spin sprites as being a separete entity from Sonic and having 2 spikes or it simply is me voyaging on mayo.

@DigitalDiamal Me too. In fact, I'm actually pretty sure these ARE from Sonic X-treme (Or at least using the same pre-rendered model). They just look incredibly similar, not to mention that they don't really fit with the rest of the game's style. Wasn't Sonic's Schoolhouse also developed at the same time as X-treme?
