If you look at the shaft movement sprites, you can tell that they're Sonic 2 styled(more accurately S3 prototype styled). That means that SEGA created a bunch of new S3 style animations for Origins, but never realized the shaft movement wasn't in the right style.

@JerpyDerp when i first played this version of S3&K, i didn't see the difference at the time until i looked at the sprites even closer

i find the contrast between the old sprites and the new, polished sprites very amusing

if i'm correct, this is the first game since Sonic X on the Leapster to use the "Sonic goes to sleep after waiting for too long" sprites

@Rayman95Fan can't you just crop them manually, Pretty sure most computers and phones have the ability to crop images

likely a byproduct of porting the sprites over from the original games. there are unused sprites left over in the other games, at least with the original mobile versions.

@CrystallineGazer: Not unused anymore, as of the latest update there's now a cheat that enables it (19930923).

why did you add peel out sprites unless they make a mod for super peel out there is no reason to add them

Nice, I was waiting for this. There's some real oddities here: Peelout sprites, keeping the unused hanging rotation, a fixed SOZ holding rotation sprite that goes unused, not fixing Sonic's eyes on certain frames (though that could be more of a purist thing), fixed transformation, walking frame in the transformation...

@QuadFactor I think they did that as a way to make it easier to show how the Carnival Night barrels work. Plus they also help make certain scenes better.

surprising that there are new CD peel-out sprites. maybe it was originally intended to be able to be unlocked like mania unlocks the CD peel-out and 3 & Knuckles insta-sheild abilites?

I find it funny that they took the time to draw extra angles for the crouching and looking up sprites. Still good sprite work regardless.
