I thought Blue Super Sonic was patched.

Balance 2 is actually used, but only when you get the glitch known as Blue Super Sonic.

Weird.

@Serious Spriter: Apparently, it's not, since the game just reuses Balance 1 instead. It's unknown whether that was intentional, or an oversight (considering they'd made an animation specifically for that in v1.04/v1.05).

Excuse me but when is "Balance 2" used?

SONIC MIGHT BE SUPER, BUT I'M SUPER DUPER.
These new sprites really peeve me. The spines randomly go from high to curved, or just flat when looking at them from the top down, the proportions for the new idle feel more like regular sonic, and some animations are just missing. Honestly, I'd just rather they re-did them or scrapped them. People like DOA867 do great jobs making these sort of sprites.

the sprite sheet is fine although I think they exaggerated with the pictures

Sorry about the capitalisation - it's a habit of mine to capitalise names. Yeah, I guess you're right, not everything is going to be a one-to-one recreation. I suppose it's the "sprite OCD" in me that gets triggered everytime I see an anomaly in the sprite-art

@TTH888 Well however must that irks you, I find it hard to believe it's as much as it irks me to see a capitalized "von."
But yeah, I see what you're talking about now. Still, it's common for video game sprites to not look like the same thing from different angles, the most obvious example I can think of being the barrels in Donkey Kong, which are beyond incompatible.

It's that at the back they turn into SA quills, they suddenly get longer, it just seems out of place for the S2-style "pointed" style

@TTH888 Yeah there's these things called the "Laws of Motion" you might want to look into. His quills are not a giant concrete piece, they'll move around as he moves.

The inconsistent quills on the rotation sprites just anger me to a whole new plane
