mind if i disagree? cat mario is indeed a good game if you ask me, and more surprising if you realize it was made by a single japanese guy, with paint and medium code experience, it managed to become trending like 3-5 years after being created, has like 20 and so fangames, and is still having fangames to this day, also, please, dont say "PERSONAL PC" just say pc, it literally stands for Personal Computer, you dirt covered cabbage.

I refer to the protagonist that way, too. So I don't think there is an official name.
Going to be honest, I always called the protagonist by the first word of the game title, "Syobon."

I once edited this infamous game "back" into SMB1 by using the original NES graphics and music. It obviously didn't feel like the original, but I thought it worked well.
