Welp, Dolphman

@Glaber, the character select sprites in the final game are in a higher resolution than the betas. Also, the mode select sprites on the bottom left are also from the prototype and are sloppy edits of in-game sprites. Despite being in development since 1995, the game was still rushed and it underperformed sadly, because mid-to-late 90s gaming was obsessed with 3D graphics.
It's rumored the US branch of PlayStation refused to have 2D games on the system because they weren't 3D. If it's true, that would explain why PAL and Japan had so many 2D games available. (Including the definitive port of Earthworm Jim 2)
There's an alpha for a third Jazz game available on the internet that was cancelled due to publishers being uninterested. Which is a shame because it looked promising after playing it one time. It's also ironic because Epic Games is now a major AAA publisher.
It would be a miracle of Jazz ever gets revived, but Epic's too focused on Fortnite, unfortunately. (Not even Unreal fans are pleased)

@glaber: In the pic I posted? They appear ever-so-slightly darker (and vertically-stretched) in-game than they do in the actual sprite files.

kinda looks like the only difference is the pallet.

@glaber: Nope, the ones used in The Secret Files are the same as the original game's. Even the Shareware version doesn't use these.

prototype? Isn't this just the Non-secret files character select art?
