I remember schoolyard songs about gruesomely murdering Barney. Goooooood times. (I didn't like Barney even when I was in its demographic. I preferred Thomas and Teletubbies.)

As a note, the hatred of Barney the Dinosaur was massive back then and it lasted not just the 1990s but also the 2000s as well. Even early YouTubers made Barney jokes, well not jokes but what people thought was funny back then and pointed out their dislike. It's kind of similar to Jar Jar Binks but at least the hatred of him had lessened over time.
