@James If you use the blue arrow to change size, select the "quality" menu in the upper left and hit "nearest neighbor." If you use image->resize, select the same thing from the "resampling" menu on the popup.

Look, and is the same sprite, Nintendo reuses already made sprites instead of doing them from scratch.
Builder mario uses the same sprite, but make new poses and reuses the builder Mario costume sprite.
Always Nintendo reuses existing content
