Awww, no more cursed Medium Mario :(

I cant unpack this with ASU. Toad's small section is bunched up together.

What's the extra fire frame on Luigi and Toad?

The super Blue Toad & Toadette sprites look really lanky and strange. I like them though.

@ComJay: Nope, it just scales existing frames of animation for that.

Aren't there sprites for the small to big transformations?

@mjmannella: Yes, but they're already grouped with the Goomba itself on the Enemies sheet.

Aren't the Goomba Shoes powerups?

@cdalikeity: Not just them, all four characters crouch down just a bit more than their regular counterparts (and doesn't seem to be consistent with how it was in the original Mario Maker).

whats with the crouching mega toad & toadette sprites?

Toad's My Favourite!

This reminds me of a stage called Retroville in an episode for SMBX called The Invasion 2, which is a fan game, and The Invasion 2 was an included episode when you first downloaded the game. Retroville is made to look 8-bit, while the rest of the game's style is 16-bit, and it even includes a Zelda 2, and a Metroid stage or two included. Link is even a playable character, playing a lot like he does from Zelda 2.

@saidFayad5 It's not the first time Luigi wore red and lime green.

They could've gone with the colours from the Gameboy Color title "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe". But Luigi's original green and white outfit is more iconic and has history in the other Mario games including merch, not to mention Super Mario Bros is the biggest 2D Mario seller and sold way more than SMB: DX. Luigi's design in NES Mario Bros was given to the current Fire Luigi so it's sorta the same thing with what they gave to this SMB Fire Luigi for Super Mario Maker 2 in SMB. The players will very likely mistake SMBDX Fire Luigi for his regular appearance too so Nintendo was being very careful for design purposes to avoid confusion on everyone I really don't blame them for it, yes you could press the run button but in multiplayer could be quite confusing. Fire Mario in SMB isn't white he is cream/ivory colour which is a very bright gold/yellow so I see what they were doing.
But in general, it was done for multiplayer purposes when staying true to his regular SMB colours. It's pretty much the answer to his own fire colours since the original SMB made him use Fire Mario's colours due to limitations.
Besides SMB style isn't really consistent anyways such as the characters super forms being quite human tall, Bowser having hair and no eyebrows, Peach being so short, Bowser Jr having actual eyes etc.

I really wish they brought back the carrot power up

i love that they brought back the superball from super mario land

Should've made Luigi have his appearance in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe because Fire Luigi with green clothing just looks bad

YEEESSSSS IReALLY WANTED THIS AND YOU GUYS MADE IN 1 DAY? I knew it! I needed this, thank you guys so much. I really liked

Well yeah, if those had been custom and non-official, they likely wouldn't have been accepted simply because of how bad and off they look.

SMB1 always had a weird style. Imo Toad and Toadette are bad looking in this style
