@Murphmario The Rail Lift is the same as the one on Lakitu's sheet, just enlarged through in-game methods.

I feel like the smiling cloud plaforms (AKA Randall from Melee) are missing.

Fun fact to know: in the book intro are two yoshis which doesn't appear in the rest of the game the Brown and the Purple yoshis

From what I can tell, all that's left are the friendly White Shy Guys in-level, two non-dangerous platform ghost things, the Piranha Sprouts with feet, the tiny bees, and certain block-type objects.

No, this is 2D rendered because the N64 could not handle the original 3D models so they converted it.

lol they drew the blargg on page 2 in like 30 seconds

Oh never mind it just looked like that at first glance

And the bullet bill looks like a 3D rendition of if Gammel tried to draw mario characters. Also, why is it slightly facing the camera? I guess it's crab walking

The "Donkey Kong Country" approach really didn't work out for this game. Or any other game that used this style.

This game needs an art book. Imagine all the artwork in much better quality...

Idk what it is about these sprites, but they really... unsettle me.

Brrrrring-HA!

Well yes but actually no.
They used sprites instead of models in games like Mario Kart 64/Yoshi's Story/Paper Mario is so that they could show more on screen without the game dropping performance

the pages looks like it was made in ms paint

the reason why sprites and not models, because just like mario kart 64, they don't want low-poly characters like in mario 64 and mario party

An emulator's worst nightmare
