That one frame of Mario's transition from small to big is very cursed.

this sheet got updated? damn

Alright so, this looks like the image or spritesheet everyone's been using to make their own sprites...
Interesting...
Interesting...

"but" i literally explained why no "but" is valid, they literally couldn't even fit a custom head due to how little space there was.

@CosmicMan08 Yes, but they could've just changed the head sprite like how smb3 changes it's sprites, like in this video, which the boot turns into a piranha plant. But they knew how to control the system more and make bigger games then, while SMB1 was VERY hard to make and fit into a single cart, since they didn't know how to shorten the code or control the system as well as they did while making SMB3.

There was barely any space left in the smb1 content for new content, there was no way they could've made custom luigi sprites.

@Charupopu Same, they could've just changed the color palette of mario's since 2 players wasn't possible, they also could've just made a new head aswell.

I never liked how much of a altered clone Luigi is

@Smoke-The-Pyroling - Yes. The sprite of the action that you are doing just prior to shooting a fireball (example swimming), is copied to the frame you shoot the fireball and the animation begins, and the game checks if you are in a standing animation. If you are not, it copies over a certain amount of tiles. If you are, it copies the whole sprite.

@Agrera I can only assume that'd be for shooting fireballs underwater.

what's the sprite to the left of the growing sprite for?

they included the small fire Mario glitch

Finally.
A new sheet.
...there's nothing edited here, right?

@DogToon64 He probably doesn't want to have to take the sprites out of the sheet all the time he used it

I noticed that the walk sprites for Mario and Luigi are edited from Donkey Kong. Also the head is also edited from the game.

Good to see the old sheet's back.
@xXDillon3Xx Why would you want this in a zip?

I fixed a few minor errors in the sheet.

Wish someone would have these as a zip file.

what changed?

@SuperMuppet Yeah i agree, since they're not in the ROM.
@TMB I know it doesn't make sense, but it's like that in the original game.
