The background layer has three colors + transparency used, those being the green, the white, and his skin. That's why the sprite layer has the skin shading and the red in his eyes.

I don't know how Snake Man's background layer has skin color when none of the other guys do, considering the skin color is supposed to be on the sprite layer

Creepypasta?!?!

Shouldn't this sheet also include the in-game version of this screen, with the glitchy line of pixels above Shadow Man?

Some of those face overlays look creepy on their own.

Does Break Man have 2 layers like that too?

@Random Talking Bush someone should add those component sprites to the sheet then

@pacmastermeow: Just like with Mega Man's in-game sprites, the mugshots consist of multiple sprites overlaying each other with different palettes.

Specifically, Spark Man had that illegal color count on the seam between the metallic top and the red face. Some, such as Needle Man, are gold-star citizens in the 3-color rule respect.

I checked with an 8x8 grid and there were more than 4 colors on a single 8x8 space. How did they do that?

Edit: Gemini Man's slot added back in, might try to see if I can get the Japanese version of the stage selection, can't promise anything. But i'll try.

Looks like someone swapped gemini man for hard man for some reason. Also, this is missing the Rockman alt to the MM3 logo found in the japanese version.

Any reason why Hard Man has two slots?
