I just compared, and interestingly, the mushrooms in the background of Yossy's stage are not quite identical to the ones in the first stage of Little Nemo. They have all the same features in all the same places, but are narrower, which leads me to believe they were probably imperfectly copied rather than directly ripped.
Fun fact: Yossy's background has tiles ripped off of tiles from Little Nemo on the NES
