I thought you were referring to how Mario and Luigi's skin tone and Luigi's greens were different in the advertisements compared to in-game.

Those aren't identical. They swapped the colors of the shirts and overalls, so Mario has his color scheme from Donkey Kong and Luigi from SMB1. In the 1993 version, they were restored to their appearance in the first NES version of MB.
Actually, that only applies to the cutscenes. In-game, they are identical to the 1993 "Classic" version which I ripped these from, which is based on Kaettekita Mario Bros. minus the menus and advertisements.
Those aren't the palettes Mario and Luigi had in the Kaettekita version. They were more like this (the screenshot's from a cutscene but it's the same ingame):
