Yes, the game was originally called "Guevara" in Japan, and the game is about the Cuban Revolution with Che Guevara as P1 and Fidel Castro as P2. Obviously, this wouldn't fly in the states hence "Guerilla War" with two nameless protags.
Why did you think the Japanese name was Guevara? Because it sounded cool?
