And I'm grateful for your help. I'd like to know Japanese better myself, but sadly most of what I know is self-taught... either from video games, anime/manga, or just using online dictionaries.

I just typed "The Spriters Resource" into Google Translate and that's what it gave me.
It also translates スプライター as "splitter" even though it's pronounced differently.
Though I suppose you're right. スプリッター is more "spreeta/spritta" than "spraita".
EDIT: Icon has been revised. And yes yes, I know You use Google Translate? Hey, it can be helpful sometimes. Translation from English directly into Japanese isn't always an exact science.

the way spells spriter in the thumbnail sounds like "splitter". actual japanese spelling of spriter is スプライター
