DelyBulacha: No, Mister Man ripped these from the game's tiles and left the background color. It also shows viewers which sprites are used and which ones aren't.

The prototype sprites feel so odd to look at.
@MCTravisYT I'm pretty sure this is because they were originally going to use the classic designs, but sometime in development there was a shift and they changed the design to use the one seen in the Adventure games.
You can still see Robotnik's classic design in the final game, being used on some of his boss battles. This seems to imply the change was very late into development.

One thing I never thougth of, is that most Sonic the Hedgehog customs don't seem to have SPA and Game Gear tier sprites. Something I'll likely address as I work on my expanded Metal Sonic sheet...
What about that Sonic silhouette that appears during the act startup card?
Interesting how some of the prototype's sprites are based on Classic Sonic instead of his appearance in Adventure
Is it alright if I use this to make an extended SPA sheet? I haven't done much sprite editing before and I feel adding extra sprites to this sheet (Such as the super peel out or any of Super Sonic's movements) would be a good place to start as the sprites are smaller and they use a much smaller color palette compared to most other 16-Bit games
