Do you have a source for that or at least a scan of the Japanese manual or something?

EDIT: Found a scan of the Japanese manual and it does confirm Ithaqua, Dagon and Shudde M'ell.

These bosses actually all originate from the Cthulhu Mythos.

Stage 1 Boss(purple wall creature): Ithaqua (localized as "Cyclopean Firebreather")
Stage 2 Boss(large sphere): Xiclotl
Stage 3 Boss(pinkish wall creature): Dagon (localized as "Leviathan")
Stage 4 Boss(quadrupedal beast): Tindalos
Stage 5 Boss(bluish wall creature): Shoggoth
Stage 6 Boss(brownish creature that hangs from the ceiling): Shudde M'ell (localized as "Diablo")
Stage 7 Boss(purple humanoid monster): Nyarlathotep

I can see this sprites be use in a crepypasta whit the red tones and odd cricualr desings are more comoon to infrigid fear on people i belive.
