@16-bit Globe Literally the day after I made that comment I saw the file in SLADE lol XD

@MG12 the palette is stored as PLAYPAL in the iwad, yes

Is this actually in the game files or just for reference?

Corrections to my previous comment:
* The first line of Yellow is meant to fade into the last 4 shades of Red while also fading from the first 4 shades of the second set of Yellow.
* Blue wasn't "recycled" from Wolf3D, since it has a much sharper decline (going all the way from 255 to 0 in 16 colors rather than Wolf3D's 255 to 64). That being said, it's the same pure blue (with Red and Green having values of 0)

y'know it's weird that they'd put so many browns on there and yet there's no dark reds (or at least reds that are dark enough for the colormap)

wolf3d blue is different, its more cyan in wolf
the yellow going brown is likely for gold object
that is a lot of browns actually jfc

That and the really weird color choices.
* Cramming little bits of other colors in the top and bottom
* Egregious number of different browns
* Yellow going from eye-searingly bright to weirdly orange-brown
* Recycling Wolf3D's cartoony blue instead of something more natural
* Having multiple shades of super-dark blue when nothing else gets that dark
* A grand total of *5* purples
