@Abc Literally the only use of "Dust Hill" ever documented was in reference to Mystic Cave.

Mystic Cave was never called Dust Hill and that's a stupid misconception

Pain: the game!

Personal theory: Sonic 2 8-bit's zones are based on concepts from the original Sonic 2's development.
* Under Ground: Madness Mountain/Mystic Cave (The version of UGZ Act 1 in the GG Autodemo prominently features a large stone building, Mystic Cave started out as a castle-y location known as Madness Mountain before being turned into a cave and renamed first to Dust Hill and then to Mystic Cave)
* Sky High: Blue Lake/Hill Top (The concept map shows that Blue Lake took place in a cloudy mountain range, while Hill Top was in roughly the same location as Emerald Hill. I think the ideas were merged, resulting in a mountainous level that uses Emerald Hill's tileset.)
* Aqua Lake: Blue Ocean, Emerald Isle (Blue Ocean and Emerald Isle were both watery levels featuring ruined buildings)
* Green Hills: Emerald Hill (Mostly due to having a tileset very similar to Sky High's, even in the Autodemo)
* Gimmick Mountain: Cyber City (CCZ also had midair conveyor belts and could be described as gimmicky)
* Scrambled Egg: Cyber City, Madness Mountain (Feels like a mix of the ideas)
* Crystal Egg: Sand Shower, Rock World (Rock World was a winter-themed palette swap of Sand Shower's tileset, Crystal Egg has cacti)

I love how in this game it's just called Green Hill with an S added at the end.

@Doc von Schmeltwick i literally said that i know about tha-

Except he is; he's in the ending.

@JDFRG i know about that

@esponjaresource His sprites do exist in the game though

@Dr. NES he is not in the game

Wait Where's Tails's Sprites?

Could someone please rip tails sprites ? i know he is ripped in the game gear version, but gamegear had higher colour palette and lower resolution

Fun fact: The sprites for Sonic 1 on the Game Gear are completely unique, while the Master System sprites are reused 3 times: First in Sonic 1 for the Master System, then in Sonic 2 for the Master System, and then Sonic 2 for the Game Gear. Strange, isn't it?

where is tails

@Ruskah They've been ripped years ago:

Can we get enemies please?

Wait, then what's in the SMS version if not that?
Curse the US imports' relative lack of sales....and thank you Brazil for making up for that.

@Bromaster
Because the person who uploaded the enemy sheet just copied the Game Gear version without checking the SMS version's rom.

Why is there a blue/red badnik on the cover?
