Why is this so scary

ah yes my favorite robotnik quote,
"CHECK CABLE"
"CHECK CABLE"

Heck no 2.

That is some huge teeth.

LSSQ made a video regarding this mystery and the VGR crew found it, that was fast.

So it was real...

@SiFi270 I'm pretty sure this was just copied from, if not directly traced, from the very same model sheet.
In fact, I'm sure his other mugshots in this same game (and the Master System version) were also taken from that.

I'm so glad that was adhered to even for a small obscure thing like this.

The method for "properly" accessing this screen is currently unknown, as it apparently doesn't actually appear when the link cable is tampered with. The only way I was able to access it was with a bit of memory editing to cause the mode select cursor to go out of bounds. The same memory edit to access the screen does NOT work in the Master System version, which is entirely why I decided to submit this in the Game Gear section rather than using the already-existing Master System entry for MBM. This very well may be the only meaningful graphical difference between the two 8-bit versions of the game.
By the way yes, I did also find that the same memory edit can be used to access an equivalent error screen in Puyo Puyo. It oughta be up on here soon enough...

@teh_supar_hackr: Ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up.

I like how this was in that latest LSonicQ video saying that the only proof of this screen existing was of two forum posts, then within hours of it going up it was uploaded onto TCRF then later here.
@QuadFactor This is for when the link cable which is used for the multiplayer mode has a problem.

"Check cable?" I thought the game gear only ran on batteries. Or is this for the master system version?
