While talking about file types, why MIME considers a ZIP file a application?
A JPG would be useless anyway, GIFs are still perfectly fine as long as they don't have more than 256 colours. This is also an ancient sprite sheet (so far back it's not even in the site logs), back when PNGs weren't as common.
@Larry's Here .GIF files are a lot more compressed than the .PNG format most rippers use to upload their sprites onto TSR. It's still better to upload a .GIF file than a .JPG file.
