just like in the dk country tv show donkey kongs hair is a part of his skull
For those who don't know: The sprites of him eating the banana show up when you clear a looot of lines in practice mode.
The sprites of the bone chomp show up when you clear 3 lines at once in regular mode and the Stalfos easter egg shows up when you clear 4 at once.

This minigame is why that Donkey Kong thing is now a Dead Kong.
