The more I look at the sprites, the more I understand why AlphaDream changed her design. It's just THAT unsettling!

Despite being mostly an enemy, Bowser still has feelings and cares for his friends. I consider him to be more of an antihero in the series overall.

tbh I prefer Bowletta's final design, this one looks cool but between the final area being Bowser's Castle where you spend 95% of it fighting Koopalings and Cackletta basically being Bowser, having her appearance more resemble herself is better. These sprites do prove that they could make Bowser looks good with minimal pixels so wtf happened with his normal sprites?

I guess the initial idea for Bowletta was to make it look as if Bowser was possesed by the ghost of Cackletta than actually fusing with her

This looks more like Bowser got bad gingivitis as a opposed to being possessed by Cackletta.
@QuadFactor From what I can tell, they combined her with a different enemy from the prototype, which looked like a heavyset...thing wearing a haphazard collection of shells. Two of which formed boobs.
On another note, I can see why they changed it. This Bowletta looks less like Cackletta and more outright demonic.
