They actually used their sprites from Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Sonic Spinball.
Not 3D Blast, though. Only Spinball and MBM based on what we know.
They were planned to appear!! Early concept art for the menu images shows that 3D Blast, Spinball and Mean Bean Machine were planned to be in the collection!
Screens 9, 22, and 25 use sprites from Sonic 3D Blast, while Screens 16 and 33 use sprites from Sonic Spinball. Neither of those games are actually in this collection.
