Cool monitors!
The Spring was from one of the beta builds. The assumption is that it would be like the Spring Shoes from Sonic Chaos and Sonic Triple Trouble.

It doesn't have any function. It's not even assigned to a Monitor ID.

FYI, the Spring is listed under Original Sprites here, as it originates from the Sonic 2 betas.
