I really don't understand why 90% of the enemies are even on this sheet because they just don't belong in Sonic like seriously they belong in a DND campaign or fantasy games

why would this comment section get icky?

Why do i have a feeling that this comment section could get icky?

those ghost are straight up from pokemon red/blue

I've seen a pattern with that. When other series do weird things, they sort of get a pass for it? While when Sonic things do it, they get a slap on the hand and told "no"

@AllySaurus Harpy-like enemies with visible nipples appeared in Zelda 2 (and Fantasia), so a lot of people seem to inexplicably exempt them.
@miru Harpies are not echidnas, they're bird people. People meaning "human".
Some of the monsters are a bit too creepy or NSFW for a Sonic game.

Love the plants, they have a nice Classic Sonic geometric plantlife vibe to 'em, could even fit in with a Green Hill Past that's NOT styled after Palmtree Panic's!

Should the shadow enemy be named "Ghost" or something? Because there already is a shadow the hedgehog.

Strange but interesting

Whoa, that's very nice, Dolphman! Great job!

Yes, but I never played it. I felt the tiles were perfect for an echidna ruins level set.
I was originally going to use tiles and pieces from Turrican, which is an Amiga game.
Techokami even has the files up for download on his Tumblr. Which is where I got the tile pieces from. I Wonder why he hasn't submit them here yet.
I also took inspiration from Planet Marblara, a level featured in Jazz Jackrabbit.

I see that most of these sprites are similar to the sprites from the sonic level maker/creator that used to be on the SEGA Play website. Have you ever heard or seen it @Dolphman?

Nah, Ill leave the harpy as it is. Didn't want them to be echidna versions anyway.
Also, if this were added to a fan game. I'd like it if this was used as its theme.

I think that the Harpy should have an echidna head.

That last enemy is from Shadow of the Beast 3 for the Commodore Amiga.
Probably the most obscure thing in the sheet.
I originally wanted to make an echidna lich as the main boss, but I couldn't find any decent wizard/lich sprites to edit. Along with with undead male echidnas with spears and female echidnas with boomerangs. But there would've been too many enemies.
Perhaps I'll might get into that for a later update.

Most of them are from other SEGA games. The Tar Monster's from Kid Chameleon, the Round Leech is from Altered Beast, the Cockatrice is seen in both Altered Beast and Golden Axe, and the Undead Dragon is from Revenge of Shinobi.
The Shadow and Harpy aren't from SEGA games though, the former being from Pokémon and the latter from Shantae (which, to be fair, did draw inspiration from the later games in SEGA's Wonder Boy series).
The Hungry Beast is the only one I don't recognize, and that's bugging me much more than it should.

You have some interesting choices for baddies in this sheet. Did they ever appear in any official Sonic media?
