@Doc von Schmeltwick Ok that's a decent point, but the problem here is the intention is all too clear thanks to that blushing sprite of tails looking at sonic, which I don't think can be interpreted in any way OTHER than romantic. We don't know where any of the contributers even come from so this argument is hella speculative. Also half of the users on this site see kisses, especially those on the lips, as romantic so are you really surprised by the reactions?
Judging by the comments, I could break a few minds by pointing out that in certain cultures (especially European ones), a kiss is a friendly gesture rather than a specifically romantic or sexual one.

Those were made back in like 2009 on a now-dead message board. Complaining here about the sprites - which were completely and actually a thing to make at the time - isn't going to do anything.
