Hey! Here is Sonic EU / JP and American Sonic accompanied by their respective elements for the creation of the background according to the choice of the zone of the game. You will be able with that to recreate a version of the official box. The images above have been reproduced thanks to the scans of the community of Sonic Retro and Sega Retro (Thanks to them for the huge work on cultural preservation of SEGA video games) and with the use of GIMP (under LUbuntu in my case).

How were these images made?

For each character, symbol and animals:
1 °) I have selected the image
2 °) I reduced their resolution (by 2 in general see 4 depending on the size of the image)
3 °) I reduced their number of colors (12 to 16 for the two Sonics, 2 for the animals and Dr Robotnik)
4 °) I manually edited the unwanted pixels and added some to correct the shading (My god American Sonic was very complex to reproduce ... The animals and Dr Robotnik having a level of two colors, it was quite quick to correct ).

I am quite satisfied with what I was able to reproduce, although I think there is room to improve the whole. Sonic EU / JP and American Sonic come from the official game box covers.

Sonic sprites being quite complex, I personally kept their GIMP layers if new updates are needed.

Have fun with it! This sheet like each of my sheets is usable for personal use and only available on TSR. I can make exception according to how do you want to use my work : it is never indicated that I will not study his question. Users of TSR can write me with PM for that like indicated in the FAQ of TSR : comments here are not for that.

I applied this restriction until situation will be better.
