Awesome! I love all these takes on Wing Fortress Zone, but my favorite is Sonic 2.
It's likely to show that Sonic's in the cargo hold of the ship, or it's sky deck. There's a stage in SA1 that's exactly like this. (Sky Deck)
How does Wing Fortress fly with a big hole in the middle?
I'd always assumed the Flying Battery was an expansion on it. Sonic Mania supports this notion a bit.

@Gaia That kinda makes me wonder if it was used in some capacity during the events of S3K since it was never actually destroyed.
As a result it really makes the airbase look like a prototype Egg Carrier.
so, in the original version i made, it was but, it wasn't really faithful to the actual tiles in the level, so i changed the front of the fortress a lot, making it bigger and more square like. i could still try to do a more level select like version if someone is intrested, but this is a more "size accurate" version i think.
I'm curious; is this somewhat derived from the stage select icon in Sonic 2/3?

ASTH#289 is for Archie sonic the hedgehog#289's wing fortress, through because of the fact we don't see everything, i needed to improvise a bit.
Custom is just my "custom" take on wing fortress.
