Yeah it's to look similar enough to Knuckles but enough to tell you yeah that's not the real Knuckles.
In all fairness, the original Mecha Knuckles in Sonic Advance started with a palette swap of Knuckles.
@Tyra the first form essentially is a palette swap, and wouldn’t be accepted alone. But the second form has enough done to it, and is on model enough that is was accepted with no problem.
nice, but it looks a bit like a palette swap. I'm surprised that this was excepted. not saying that it's not good (it's actually quite nice).

In my opinion, this definitely looks really cool but I feel like the missile launching sprite doesn't look right. I feel like his arm should be made longer and could maybe be moved up by like 2 or 3 pixels perhaps, as at the moment the pose that he's in looks a bit stiff.
