As great as this is, the rolling sprites REALLY bother me, they're essentially just rotated with just small edits, the second rolling frame especially; why is it darker ABOVE Sonic and lighter below him? The shading is just wrong
EDIT: Brainfart moment and realised it's just the quills that make it look odd, and since this is supposed to replicate the TTS look, this is intentional...my bad!

This is probably the best variation of the beta recreations I've seen so far. The other ones just always looked kinda odd for some reason.

Wow. Just wow. I really impressed by the effort of this. This feels like if the original beta sprites were used, but polished up to match everything else. And also nice touch with Dark Sonic at the bottom left.

These are good as finalized versions of the beta sprites. I think you should do more.

They'll be based off of snapshots and all other pre-release content. There's no available Sonic 1 Beta.
Not gonna lie, it actually makes me think of Modern Sonic in a way. I think it might be the way the standing sprite is posed, it actually looks really cool.
