Wait wait wait i got muddled. This ones mecha sonic my 1 in an. 8bit style LOL

Ok so I’m finally gonna sort this out. Here’s a list of the correct names for each one and their debut. I have little info on some of them so there may be some mistakes but like, I’ve never really focused on this kinda thing.
- Sonic 2 - 8-Bit, Scrambled Egg Zone boss: Silver Sonic.
- Sonic 2 - 16-Bit, First Death Egg Zone boss: Mecha Sonic Mk 1
- Sonic and Knuckles - 16-bit, Sky Sanctuary Zone Boss: Mecha Sonic MK 2.
- Sonic CD - 16-Bit, Stardust Speedway zone boss: Metal Sonic.
- Knuckles Chaotix - 32-bit, Newtrogic High Zone/ Hub World boss, also the final boss: Metal sonic, Metal sonic Kai / Crimson Metal Sonic.
- Sonic Adventure - I think 68 or 64-bit, Final Egg Zone (Maybe?) Mecha Sonic Mk 3. (Bit cloudy on this one- never played SA1 or 2 :( )
- Sonic Rivals 1 and 2: Metal Sonic Mks 2.0 and 3.0 feature only in these games. I’d enjoy seeing them again in the future
- Sonic Heroes: Neo Metal Sonic is basically the main villain.
- Lego dimensions sonic dlc: Silver Sonic from 8-bit Sonic 2. Also known as Robo Sonic, it’s not actually canon to the lore.
The name “Robo Sonic” is not actually mentioned by SEGA in any canon material. It’s actually only in Sonic’s first Lego appearance, Lego Dimensions. So you can call him Robo Sonic but his actual name is Silver Sonic. 👍
Also, I get that you’re trying to reduce confusion between Silver the Hedgehog (debut Sonic 06 I think) and Silver Sonic (debut like in 1992 or so in an 8bit game) but really, he’s called Silver Sonic! The game manual does list him as “the Silver Sonic” - yes, an actual THE - not Robo Sonic? The Encyclospeedia for some reason lists him as Mecha Sonic.
This is like calling Tails Knuckles or something like that.
So now that’s cleared up I’m a go and make a whole spritesheet that details their different sprites.

the little scrunkly

honestly my favorite Sonic robot, and this take on them is really friccin adorable

doc when silver sonic https://i0.wp.com/focusforwardcc.com/wp-content/uploads/Angry-Man_rs.jpg

OK, I'll be gentle and unambiguous here, and never bother speaking of this matter here ever again.
"The Silver Sonic" ->
Not Silver Sonic ->
"The Silver Sonic" ->

Not Silver Sonic ->

Silver Sonic looks white to me

We call it Silver Sonic because it's Silver in color lmao

I'm fine with people calling it Robo Sonic, but Silver Sonic is objectively wrong. If someone was calling Mario "Luigi," I'd correct them.

@Doc: You really should just let people call it what they want to call it, within reason, of course. I prefer Robo Sonic because:
A. There's already a Mecha Sonic.
B. There might be some confusion between Silver the Hedgehog and the name Silver Sonic, in which there actually has been in the past.
C. Just because the Robo Sonic name came from a LEGO game doesn't mean it isn't it's official name. That would be like saying the Metroid Manga isn't canon to the Metroid timeline (in which it actually is).
Just let people call it what they want, okay?

Here's an Idea: Mecha/Silver/Robo Sonic (SegaSonic Bros-Style)

@EXE What? I was being very cordial about it. This time.

FUCK WHAT HAVE I DONE

Very well. "Silver Sonic" is a verboten fan nickname given to the Sonic 2 16-bit boss, who is actually Meca Sonic/Mecha Sonic. The name actually originates as a variation of the English name of the Sonic 2 8-bit boss, which the manual consistently calls "the Silver Sonic," "the" included. This resembles the 16-bit robot far more design-wise, so I request that you change the sheet title so as to not spread misinformation further. Thank you, and merry Christmas.
