For anybody who's wondering, that bizarre blue Brendan actually comes from the short-lived "Pokemon Trading Figure Game". Alongside figures of the red Ruby/Sapphire design, and the green Emerald design (the latter of which never actually released), they also put out a blue palette swap of the R/S figure to have three Brendans! Bizarrely, it was this blue Brendan that they actually assigned the name "Brendan" to, with the red one being "Landon" and the green one being "Sean".

Red also got that same treatment, getting three figures, with a green palette swap and a yellow palette swap (the latter of which never released either) in addition to the standard red design! Three guesses what the alternative names for the palette-swapped figures were here, hahaha.
